Ancient
many-fingered trunk
much-hugged
and admired
twisted, troubled
reaching for the skies
thrusting deep into the ground
leaves tender
branches tough
ageless in her wisdom
standing firm through wars
weeping with the lovelorn
yielding to no arrow or rock or charger
